Explosive Orgasms
Admit it. We all want them. And we’d like them longer, more frequent, more intense and just …….MORE! Read on and prepare yourself for your own bedroom Fourth of July…..
Exercise!

Yes yes, it’ll improve your stamina and depending on the exercise it may just help you flex into those really challenging positions. BUT….research shows that people who exercise regularly increase the blood flow throughout their bodies, including – of course – the genital area. And we all know increased blood flow means improved sex drive…. And, yes, sex is exercise. And exercise improves the blood flow/desire. Which leads to more sex. Which is exercise…. It’s the ultimate virtuous circle!
Pick Your Time
Believe it or not, there are days when you’re more likely to have more powerful orgasms. Research suggests you could have more intense and more frequent orgasms during days 6-10 of the menstrual cycle (day 1 being the first day of your period). Again it’s down to increased vasocongestion (flow of blood to the genitals). This heightens vulval sensitivity and swells the clitoris.
So ring those days in your diary and put some serious.time aside for passion. Any time of day will do. (The idea that your sex hormones peak in the afternoon may well be a myth. Apparently hormone levels are pretty consistent over the course of the day).
Love The Skin You’re In
Researchers at Pennsylvania State University discovered that womens’ body image was a significant predictor of their levels of sexual satisfaction. No matter how young or old the women were they reported having been ‘more attractive’ ten years earlier. That sense of lost attractiveness was linked by researchers to less frequent sex, less satisfying sex and a decrease in sexual desire.
We are bombarded by media images of perfect, air-brushed couples having mind-blowing sex. It’s tempting to assume, therefore, that only perfect bodies are sexually alluring. Don’t be tempted to hold yourself to the media’s standards of attractiveness. Think about it – if you find your partner’s body attractive (and no doubt it has those wonderful imperfections that make us gloriously human) then chances are he thinks the same about yours! It’s the person he’s making love to – not the body.
Watch The Alcohol

OK a couple of drinks can get you in the mood for lurve and really loosen your inhibitions. BUT…. Too much alcohol can be a depressant. It dampens the central nervous system, slows down nerve impulses, affects coordination and can make it difficult for females to produce sufficient lubrication and males to maintain an erection. Use with caution if you want to really heat the sheets!
Elevate Your Pelvic Floor!
A study reported in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry found that women with weakened pelvic floors were less likely to have orgasms than those with strong ones. (The pelvic floor is the sling of muscle that supports the bladder and vagina). These muscles progressively weaken with age and childbirth. To give your pelvic floor a workout stop the flow of urine mid-stream for a second or two several times each time you urinate, Or, alternatively, imagine your pelvic floor as an elevator and take it up several ‘flights’. Lift and squeeze to go up a floor, holding for a second or two at ever level. Then go down again – one floor at a time! The more often you do this, the stronger your muscles will become and the more intense your orgasms will be. And because you draw on these muscles when you orgasm, the stronger they’ll get. An-other virtuous circle!!
Grab An Adrenalin Rush

Prior to getting horizontal try thinking outside of the bedroom! Indulge in activities together that get the adrenalin pumping. Ride a roller coaster, jump out of a plane, learn how to ski. If you’re not outdoorsy you could always just try watching an action-packed movie. Experiencing a heart-thumping rush really stimulates you and if you do it together it really enhances your sexual connectivity.
Please Yourself!
Self-pleasuring is the ideal way to learn about your body and what turns you on. And when you know what your body responds to then you can direct your partner to just the right spot….
Laugh Together

Both laughter and sex increase levels of endorphins, a chemical substance that causes a state of euphoria. Making each other laugh in bed will result in a double dose of mood-enhancing hormones. Try out some crazy new positions – the more elaborate the better. Forget embarrassment. Approach your erotic adventures with humour and you’ll double the intensity of your orgasm!.
Leave Your Troubles at the Door
High anxiety levels raise the production of fight-or-flight hormones like cortisol. These prevent the relaxation response which is a precursor to the early stages of arousal.
Wear Heels!
No not bedroom stilettos (though heels do seem to drive men mad with desire!). Dr. Maria Cerutto of the University of Verona claims that wearing high-heeled shoes works the pelvic muscles and keeps that vital organ toned and elastic. So if you’ve been nagging your bloke for some new Jimmy Choo’s, here’s your argument….
Explore
Your body is one big miraculous erogenous zone. Almost every single part of your body, from the tips of your ears to the soles of your feet can be touched in a way that turns you on. Experiment!
